Professor Lang Kao is now teaching in the Department of Political Science at National Taiwan University (NTU). His major fields of interests include international political economy, comparative government, and conflict and negotiation. Between 2003 and 2005, Professor Kao served as the Chairperson of the Department of Political Science at NTU. From 2008 to 2012, he served in the Ma Ying-jeou administration as Deputy Secretary-General to the President.

Professor Kao has written and edited many books and articles on international affairs, constitutional reform, and public policies. He has received a Fulbright Research Grant, a MacKay Canadian Studies Award, and many research awards from the National Science Council.
